graphs and asymtotes

For question 107 in section 5.3 what features should you look for in order to figure out where the graph is a good estimate of the function?
Also, in general for graphing equations after finding the various asymtotes are there any general tips for determining the shape?

For determining the shape of HAs, i think you should do the division first, the shape of the answer from the division should be the shape of your HA. For example "find the shape of HA of (x^2-2x)/(x+1)", after the division, the answer is (3/(x+3))+x-3, we can ignore (3/(x+3))part, so x-3 is left, and it is a linear, which means the shape of your HA is a linear. and if the original function is a cubic divide by a linear, the answer will be in a quadratic form, so the shape of your HA will be a quadratic.
this is just what i think...
