7.2->28

I'm havving trouble drawing a diagram/picture for this problem, wut does it mean when it says the boats "diverge by 38*"
if someone can show me wut their equation was, im sure i will be able to figure out the drawing if thasts easier

so the triangle for this one is between the port (P), and the two boats (let's call them A and B). Since 3 hours have elapsed, the 22mph boat is 66 miles from P (22*3). The 31mph boat is 93 miles from P. The angle between the 66 side of the triangle and the 93 side of the triangle is 38 degrees. The distance between A and B can now be found using the law of cosines.

so.. (AB)^2=(66)^2+(93)^2-(2*66*93*cos(38degrees))

don't forget to take the square root of the answer you get when you simplify.
