Is there anyway that someone could post the class notes from Friday, May 11 on the blog? I was sick so I wasn't able to get them.

We went over the quiz that we took on Tuesday an we did some practice with sequences and series.
The simplest way for solving the equation for conic sections. The method is to find the general equation for the conic section. after you have the general formula, then you can easily tell the center, the major and/or minor axes, and what the shape is. After all of that is determined then you can solve also sovle for the focus, directrix, etc.
We also got some practice for determining arithmetic and geometric series. In arithmetic series there is a common difference which is added or subtracted from each term, and in a geometric series, there is a common ratio. We also got some proactive on writing the equations for the series, but all of this is in the first two lessons of chapter 12.
