There is a brief explanation on page 101 and 102 in textbook.
Carrie's right, the book gives a brief explanation on pp. 101-102, but I find it a bit confusing. I gave detailed directions for how to set up a scatter plot as a response to Sarah's post, so check that out if you're still confused. Hope it helps!
