| I have a question as to classes in the math department... is it required to had taken AP Cal to take AP Stats, and if you are going to a medical feild do u think it is necessary to take Stats in college? melissa |

The AP math courses are not mandatory for graduation. You don't have to take AP Calculus to take AP Stats.
For the medical field it isnt really required, but colleges usually require you to take some math courses so taking AP Calc or Stats might be helpful. Also if you intend on becoming a doctor you need to take the MCAT and must have taken Biology, Chemistry, and a Math. So it is in your best interest to take as many AP clases in high school if you're entering the medical field.
