supplement #7

can anyone help explain how to answer parts a and c of number 7 of the supplemental problems?

To go from y=x+(2/x) to y=(x/4)+(8/x), x must be replaced with (x/4). So the graph was scaled horizontally by a factor of 4. Part c is basically the same, except that after scaling horizontally by a factor of 4, you then have to replace x with (x+2), so the graph is also translated left 2 units.
