I'm So Lost

I need a lot of help on Chapter 12 because once again I was not at school. Can some one fill me in on the new calculator operations that the email was discussing? Also I have questions about how to convert equations like this: 3x^2 + 4y^2 + 2x + y + 22 = 0, to ellipse, hyperbola, or porabola form.

Hey, Shaun -

You can use the B^2-4AC formula to determine what kind of conic is determined by a quadratic. You can also solve for y on your calculator to get an expression you can graph.

to get the equations, you would bring the variables to one side and the non variables on the other side. then factor and use completing the square. then it should be easy to determine the equation
